I grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, where I went to The Bolles School. I attended Vanderbilt University from 2006 – 2010, graduating with a B.A. in Neuroscience (minoring in Spanish & Art History). There, I participated in major neuroscience research with the Hackett auditory research lab (although I personally was only a small part). I also played football at Vandy for the 2006-2009 seasons; although most of the 2007 season and all of the 2009 season I was out due to injuries: ACL tear in 2007 and torn pectoral in 2009. I went on to take post-bacc courses at Jacksonville University during the 2010-2011 academic year. I also worked part-time as an IT Consultant and Website Developer.
During the summer of 2011, I visited Honduras for 43 days as a volunteer for the Hope of Jesus Children’s Home, which is a wonderful organization. I wish more people were like Mike & Kim Miller, the missionaries and founders of the organization. While I do not consider myself extremely religious, I found their work and way of life very humble and soothing.
My academic focus has always been in the medical sciences and I am currently working towards a Masters of Arts in Medical Sciences at Boston University’s School of Medicine. IT & Web Development have always been a hobby, something I enjoy almost as much as biological and physical sciences. I always enjoy helping others when and where I can, so let me know if you have a problem/question and hopefully we can figure out the solution.
To date, I have helped build 3 servers for the company Blue Sky MD, which were colocated in a state-of-the-art facility in Jacksonville, FL with a company called GoRack. I received quite a bit of help from their staff, who are very knowledgeable and helpful. My favorite, John Duane, is a technical guru who seems to have a solution to any problem. I have also built 7 custom PCs for friends and family; if you’re looking for the best bang for your buck and the best performance, custom built is the way to go. All of the computers I have built have been quad-core CPU, had at least 4GB of RAM, 500GB or larger Hard Drives, and cost less than $800. Also, all are currently running well and haven’t had any major issues (knock on wood), which a few were built around 4 years ago… not bad. I highly recommend purchasing an Anti-Virus program such as Kaspersky (you can usually buy licenses on Amazon for cheap).
